中关村第四小学成立于2003年9月，是海淀区为了适应中关村地区发展而特批的一所公办小学。
中关村地区拥有一批高科技产业如著名的联想集团、百度公司等，由此它被誉为中国的“硅谷”。我校现有学生1270人，6个年级，共31个教学班，其中，绝大多数的孩子来自高知家庭。学校拥有一支高学历、师德高尚、业务精良、爱岗敬业，有朝气和创新意识的高水平的师资队伍。
建校十年来，学校借助其先进的办学理念、优秀的教师团队、优越的软硬件条件，获得了快速发展，“每个人都是重要的”核心价值观以及“儿童站在正中央”的教育实践更是赢得了社会及同仁的高度认可。在未来，学校将继续致力于创建一所具有国际视野、富含儿童特点、体现科技文明、彰显学生个性的现代化的品牌学校。

校长
学校现任校长李晓琦女士，课程与教学论专业研究生，硕士学位。教学实践和大学深造交织构成了她的成长方式。目前，参与北京市“中青年骨干校长研修课程”及海淀区教委的“校长专业发展与学校特色建设”项目。
Founded in Sept. 2003 as a public primaryschool, Zhongguancun No. 4 Primary School was established upon approval ofHaidian District government for the development of the Zhongguancun Area, in Beijing.
The Zhongguancun Area is referred to as“The Chinese Silicon Valley” for the great concentration of such renownedhi-tech enterprises as Lenovo and Baidu. Accordingly, most of our children--atotal of 1,270 students in 31 classes, 6 grades--are from well-educatedfamilies. Also, we’ve engaged our faculty on the following standards:qualifications, integrity, fastidiousness, spiritedness, innovativeness, and soon.
With our distinctive educational ideals,the effort of all staff members, and well-established campus, the school hastaken a great leap in development for its 10th anniversary. And we are lookingfor the next decade of our school, in which we’ll take all pains, ask for all help,and utilize all resources available, to create a school of children, a schoolenthralling to adults as well as children, and a school for the well-being ofour students both now and for the future.

Learning and Teaching
Learning and Teaching provide a largerdevelopment space for the students at different development levels, withdifferent cognitive styles and different life backgrounds. Cooperative studyhelps students develop the skills to cooperate with others. Explorative studytaps the independent exploration capability and innovative consciousness ofstudents.
The Principal
As principal of Zhongguancun No.4 PrimarySchool, Ms. Li Xiaoqi started her career as a teacher of both Chinese andEnglish, combined with a post-graduate program in Capital Normal University, in which shereceived her master’s degree by the research in practical knowledge andprofessional development of teachers. Ms. Li is now participating in theproject “Professional Development of Principals and CharacteristicsConstruction of School” by the Education Committee of Haidian District.
